FAQ’s
Below are some questions that you may have and the answers may be here for you:
Q. What do I do if I turn up at a site and they do not appear to have any special measures in place?
A. If you are not comfortable with the arrangements at any place of work please contact your Area Manager and discuss with them before you begin the job.
Q. What do I do if people are self-isolating where I am working?
A. Assess the situation and any risk to yourself. It maybe that someone is self-isolating in a part of the premises which is not accessible to you (a managers flat for example) and that they do not leave, which is a different situation than someone with access to the whole premises. If you have any doubt over the safety of working there please call your Area Manager before beginning the job.
Q What do I do if I or someone in my household has Coronavirus symptoms?
A. You must follow the Government guidelines at all times and also follow the company rules for reporting absence from work. Follow this link for the latest advice.

Q What do I do if I am not comfortable working where they expect me to work?
A. Initially, make sure that you have a conversation at the beginning of the day about the arrangements for carrying out the stocktake and that an agreeable plan is made. If you are not comfortable with the solution and cannot come to a satisfactory conclusion please call your Area Manager before commencing the job.
Q. What if I have no option but to travel on public transport?
A. Where the only option to travel to work is to use public transport, consider the advice given on Page 4 of this document with regard to varying the time you travel to avoid the busiest times. Also, you should always refer to the government guidance which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers
Q. Can I decide when it is appropriate to work at home?
A. If there is any work you can do in advance of arriving at site then this can be done. This is often where we have access to purchases information beforehand. Any other ‘prep’ that can be carried out before you arrive should be considered. If you think it appropriate or possible to take work home from site and complete a job away from the venue then you must seek authorisation from your Area Manager or the manager at Venners that looks after this client.
Q. Who should I report any concerns I have to?
A. Initially this should be your Area Manager.
Q How do I get a supply of face masks?
A. We can send these to you, or you can use your own reusable face covering. Please send requests for disposable facemasks to [email protected]
Q. How do I get a supply of hand sanitiser?
A. After your initial supply has run out you can purchase your own and claim it through your expenses. Please see the recommended places to purchase these above.
Q. What it if I am contacted from the NHS Test and Trace Service?
A. If you are contacted you have to follow the self-isolation guidelines and go through the usual process of reporting your absence from work. All information about test and trace can be found by following this link https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works
